Live, it’s Thursday night!

Last night we were live with Dan and Andrew from GenerationCitizen and 50×2026 talking about how you can use your influence to further democracy. Catch the recap here!

Did you know the United States suffers from a civic engagement gap? With all the talk about voting rights, getting active doesn’t start at the polling booth, it starts in school and at home. The Franklin Project Democracy Pledge calls on you to become a more active and engaged citizen. This weekend, people will be participating in marches around the country to make their voices heard. People march for different things, but it’s ultimately about democratic activism.

Why do people march? Watch this video from We the Voters.

Hold leaders to a higher standard

Now is the time to hear from your members of Congress and have them hear from you. If you’re attending some kind of event (in-person or virtual), but not sure what to talk about – ask them about where they stand on the filibuster or redistricting.

With the House passing the John Lewis Voting Rights Act this week, consider starting a convo on voting rights or the For the People Act.
