Lincoln Democracy Institute Tells Voters The Choice Is For Democracy Or Autocracy

November 4, 2022 – In a new video, the Lincoln Democracy Institute tells voters about how the choice they make this election will define America’s future for years. Voters can either feed into a phony narrative that instills fear, or instead embrace hope and a belief in America’s democratic traditions. 

“This is the most important election for democracy in generations,” said Erin Dobson, Lincoln Democracy Institute Executive Director. “People have a choice to make about the future of the nation. Do they want a violent autocratic nation that rolls back rights, divides us as people, and only serves the entrenched few? Or do they want a future that embraces democracy, brings people together, and works for the common good? Every American who believes that the country’s strength is in its democratic institutions must go vote in this election.” 

The Lincoln Democracy Institute (LDI) responds in real time to threats to our democracy. It repudiates the lies of the right wing media and pushes back against those who threaten to use violence. As the 501(c)(4) nonprofit affiliate of the Lincoln Project, LDI seeks to defeat the forces that imperil our democratic system, reminding Americans of the values that unite us and educating voters on a nonpartisan basis on the urgency for all of us to participate in the democratic process.
